Grand electors and senatorial elections

The 9 councillors and 12 delegates elected for the United Kingdom are also grand electors. As such, they participate in the election of senators representing French citizens abroad.

France has 12 senators representing the French living abroad. In September 2026, 6 of them will be up for renewal.
