A message from Patricia Connell, the ENSEMBLE ! list lead, re-elected Councillor for another term :
" The official results of the 2026 Consular Elections were confirmed on Monday 1 June.
First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the 18,067 voters who took part in this election. Although turnout was lower than in 2021 (13.95% compared with 16.11%), every vote matters and helps strengthen our democracy and the representation of French citizens living in the United Kingdom.
I would also like to thank all the candidates and their teams. Regardless of our political views, each of them committed their time and energy to presenting their vision for the future of our community. That commitment deserves both recognition and respect.
My thoughts also go to the outgoing French Councillors and Consular Delegates who were not re-elected and who have devoted significant time, energy and voluntary effort to serving our fellow citizens over the past five years. Their commitment has helped support our community through many challenges and has contributed to the vitality of our local democratic life.
I would especially like to thank the voters who placed their trust in the ENSEMBLE! For All French Citizens in the United Kingdom list.
With 4,075 votes, our list came first in the election. Compared with 2021, we gained 617 additional votes and secured one additional French Councillor seat, increasing our representation from five to six elected representatives overall.

This election has resulted in a pluralistic council that reflects the diversity of our community. The voters have made their choice. They now expect us to work together.
An election campaign is always a time for debate and, at times, disagreement. That period is now behind us.
The challenges ahead are many: access to consular services, education, social protection, mobility, support for the most vulnerable members of our community, assistance to our associations and schools, and adapting to the long-term consequences of Brexit.
No elected representative, group or political tendency holds all the answers alone. The next six years must be marked by dialogue, mutual respect and the search for practical solutions.
I am confident that we will be able to find common ground and work together in the best interests of our community. "
