Social protection is at the heart of consular missions. For French citizens in the United Kingdom, it is particularly important: access to care via the NHS, pension rights, and specific social benefits.

ENSEMBLE ! is committed to championing a strong and supportive consular service, serving all French citizens in the United Kingdom, and in particular the most vulnerable.

Consular councillors in action

The Councillors for French Citizens Abroad sit on the Consular Council alongside the Consul. They participate in decisions concerning social welfare assistance (CCPAS), school bursaries, and all support schemes for French citizens in difficulty.

This is a concrete and essential role that directly affects the lives of our fellow citizens. For the past 5 years, our elected representatives have been fighting to maintain and strengthen these schemes, particularly in the post-Brexit context which has left some of our fellow citizens in a more vulnerable position

Our commitments

We are committed to defending the continuation of consular social welfare assistance, improving support for French citizens living in precarious situations in the United Kingdom, facilitating access to information on social rights in both countries, and strengthening the link between mutual aid associations and consular services.
