Consular Elections 2026
How to vote
Voting is easy! Here are the 3 ways to participate in electing your local French representatives (or Conseillers des Français de l'étranger)

WARNING: This is a single-round election using proportional representation — every single vote counts
Vote online — 22 to 27 May
- You will receive your login ID by email (remember to check your spam folder) and your password by SMS from the sender “CONSULAIRE”.

- Log in to the online voting portal with your credentials, or via France Identité to vote from May 22nd (11:00 am UK time) and up to May 27th (11:00 am UK time).
- Follow the instructions, cast your vote and confirm — that’s it!
Good to know: The portal is open from 22 to 27 May until 12 noon (Paris time), i.e. 11:00 am UK local time.
Vote by proxy — before 31 May
- Choose a trusted person registered on the same consular electoral list as you.
- Go online to maprocuration.gouv.fr.
- Have your request validated by the consulate, an honorary consul, or via France Identité.
- On election day, your proxy votes in your name — you have nothing else to do.
Good to know: Your proxy must vote at your polling station, not their own.
Vote in person — 31 May 2026
- Find your polling station: the details will be sent to you by email. For these elections, your polling station will be in London (Churchill or Charles de Gaulle), Manchester or Bristol.
- Go to your polling station on 31 May.
- Bring a French ID document (passport or national identity card).
- Cast your vote in the booth and place a single ballot paper in the box.
Good to know: You may only vote at the polling station matching your registered address.
